EMMA GRIFFITHS X GISELE GANNE
Welsh luxury fashion label E.G EMMA GRIFFITHS to exhibit fashion film preview of Spring Summer 2011 Collection at The Hospital private members club, Covent Garden, London during Fashion week on the 17th and 19th of September.
E.G Designer Emma Griffiths has taken elements of her ancestry to create a collection that reflect the traditions of love in Welsh History.
For centuries the Celtic Welsh knot of the Love Spoon has been a Welsh expression of love. The men would carve the love spoon into never-ending patterns as a symbol of his love for her. The different patterns would hold meanings for each woman; the pattern used in this collection is symbolic of the strength of love.
The collection reflects a complex contradiction between strength, and the intricate feminine pattern. With intricate laser cut body cages of regal leather, enveloping swathes of billowing silk, for red carpet glamour with elegant strength.
The E.G signature leggings carry warrior undertones of sculptured leather paneling, and taut lacing. The 18ct gold plated shields that adorn the leather breast plates and leggings, were designed in collaboration with world renowned Fine Jeweler Gisele Ganne.
For E.G Emma Griffiths the collection was an important expression of their heritage, the legends of the Celtic Knot, and the legacy of craftsmanship.
Designer Emma Griffiths graduated from Westminster University and continued her training with world renowned designer Alexander McQueen, and Zowie Brooch of Boudicca. Emma's individual work has gained coverage by Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and Drapers amongst many.

I am delighted to announce that last week, I was named as a Hot 100 in fresh talent section, NexGems, by The Professional Jeweller.
.
“Everyone who has made it into this year’s Hot 100 has excelled in the past year and is an example of best practice in the industry, from trendsetting jewellery designers creating beautiful designs to retailers working hard on the shopfloor to keep customers satisfied with great products and excellent retail experiences. The Business Big Shots is a very important sector of the book as it features the key industry leaders driving brands and vital trade organisations forward, while NexGems is a much-loved sector of the book that reveals the up-and-coming jewellery designers we are tipping for the top. New this year was the Trailblazer section which celebrates those individuals making their own way in the industry by pushing into the unknown and it features people working in areas such as ethical jewellery, cutting-edge technology and trends.” said Professional Jeweller editor-in-chief Rachael Taylor.
Divided into sections dedicated to Trendsetters, Business Big Shots, Retail Stars and the Professional Jeweller's pick of new talent NexGems, the Hot 100 has been compiled into a book featuring beautiful photography and intimate personal profiles of 100 of the most influential movers and shakers in the industry.
